Captain Wade Murphy
Tilghman, Maryland 21671
Wade Murphy has been crabbing for 25 years, dredging oysters for 15 years and hand-tonging for 5 years. A resident of Talbot County, Wade operates Miss Arielle Charters, which focuses on crabbing fishing, hunting, and Chesapeake Bay heritage tours.
Captain Murphy is excited to give his guests the opportunity to give traditional crab trotlining a try onboard his boat, Miss Arielle. Leaving from the historic watermen community of Tilghman Island, guests will head to Captain Murphy’s crabbing grounds in Harris Creek and the Choptank River. In addition to a great day on the water guests can head home with crabs that they dipped and sorted.
Miss Arielle can carry up to 6 passengers. Price per passenger is $75 for a 5-6 hour crabbing trip (minimum four passengers or $300 per charter). Guests can expect to take home 1 - 1½ bushels of crabs for each charter (or more on a good day!) and crabs can be steamed for $15 a bushel. Private charters can be designed based on guest’s needs.
Captain Murphy also recently added a skipjack to his fleet and offers 2 hour sailing cruises for up to 6 passengers, at a rate of $50 per person (minimum four passengers or $200 per charter).
