Captain Keith Rupp offers boat tours out of Knapp's Narrows Marina on Tilghman Island. Take a ride around Poplar Island to learn about restoration and check out the fishing and crabbing gear used by commercial watermen. Try your hand at pulling crab pots and trotlines and learn about Capt. Keith’s lifelong experience as a waterman, starting with his first job oystering on a Skipjack.
Tours typically last around 1.5 hours, but can be flexible depending on your interests. If you’re interested in sportfishing or crabbing, Capt. Keith’s season runs from mid-April to mid-December. If you’re looking for a general cruise, call to ask about his availability.
Capt. Keith grew up in Cecil County at the headwaters of the Bay where his father was a waterman. His specialty is charter fishing, but he’s worked as a waterfowl hunting guide and has done pretty much every job on the Bay with about 30 years of experience. As you can imagine, Capt. Keith is knowledgeable in most aspects of the Chesapeake Bay watermen’s heritage, so tours are fully customizable depending on your interests.
